A reinterpretation of Bas Jan Ader's classic short film "I'm too sad to tell you...", this work explores the nature of authorship and the question of originality in art making at this point in history.

Water Closet 2008, 60 minutes, looping DVD and mixed media

Created through a residency with Studio 303 and OUT Productions, Montreal, Canada, and presented originally during the group exhibition The Factory Project, the piece is a video and mixed media installation which invites the viewer to explore a reimagined version of the dressing room shared by the "gender performers" of Andy Warhol's Silver Factory, Candy Darling, Jackie Curtis, and Holly Woodlawn.

The piece juxtaposes the artist's experiences in the performance of gender in the private forum of the bathroom and the public forum of the stage.
